Determining Your Hat Size: A Step-by-Step Guide
To find the perfect fit for your hat, follow these easy steps:

1. Gather your tools: Grab a measuring tape or a piece of string that you can measure later.
2. Position the tape: Place the measuring tape around your head, ensuring it sits at the middle of your forehead and about 1/8″ above your ear. Make sure it's snug but not overly tight.
3. Take the measurement: Hold the tape firmly in place and note the measurement. Refer to the chart below to find your hat size.
4. In between sizes? If your measurement falls between two sizes, we recommend ordering the larger size for a more comfortable fit. We also offer hat-size reducers to help snug up your new hat if necessary.
By following these simple steps, you'll be able to determine your hat size accurately and ensure a comfortable and stylish fit.
Hat size is based on the circumference of your head. Measure once, then use the chart to find your size.

How to measure your head
- Wrap a soft tape measure around your head where the hat will sit: across the middle of your forehead, about ½ inch above your eyebrows and ⅛ inch above your ears.
- Keep the tape straight and snug, not tight. No tape? Use a piece of string, then measure the string with a ruler.
- Find your measurement in the chart below.

Between sizes? Size up and add a hat size reducer for a snug fit.
Letter or numbered sizes? Letter sizes each cover two numbered sizes, so a Large fits both 7 1/4 and 7 3/8. Fitted felts and premium straws come in numbered sizes for the closest fit; casual caps and crushables usually use letters.
Dobbs hats run true to size using standard US measurements.
